The Workplace SHOULD NOT Eat its Young: Keeping teen and young adult workers safe in the workplace

The number of teens injured while working in Maine has more than doubled in the last 10 years, which may be linked to the number of youths entering the workforce. With the labor market extremely tight in New England, and more young workers being hired, it is increasingly difficult for businesses to provide the additional guidance young adult and teen workers need to stay safe and make good decisions.
This session will review teen and young adult injury trends, discuss causal factors, and offer workplace safety strategies for teens 14-17 years old and young adult workers 18-24 years old.
