Slip, Trip & Fall (STF) Prevention

Slips, trips and falls are some of the most common causes or workplace injuries. STF associated hazards and deficiencies are among the most commonly cited OSHA standards as well as causes of preventable injury-related death. Just in the years 2015-2017, MEMIC has paid more than $105 million in slip, trip and fall claims. The cost to employers and employees in pain and lost time should make preventing slips, trips and falls a top priority for everyone.

Walk Safe with MEMIC
In the winter of 2024, MEMIC partnered with former news anchor Kim Block, whose 39-year broadcasting career ended following a traumatic brain injury from a winter fall in January 2019. Kim shares her story as a reminder to all to be extra careful during the winter months. "In one single swoop, my feet came out from underneath me, and I landed hard. It was the back of my head that broke my fall," Block recalls. Despite more than a year of intensive therapy, her recovery continues to present challenges, leading to her departure from WGME.
