MEMIC's Steve Prue Elected to CPCU Society President

PORTLAND, ME, June 26, 2008 – MEMIC is pleased to announce that Steve Prue has been named as President of the Maine Chapter of the Chartered Property Casualty Underwriters (CPCU) Society. Prue was inducted at the Maine Chapter meeting on May 15, 2008 at the Doubletree Hotel.

The CPCU Society is a membership of more than 28,000 credentialed insurance professionals who promote excellence through ethical behavior and continuing education. The Society’s members hold the Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter designation, the industry’s premier designation that is conferred by the American Institute for CPCU.

Prue, an executive underwriter with MEMIC since 1998, attained his CPCU designation in 1995.

“Achieving this designation has probably been the best accomplishment of my insurance career. It has provided a strong foundation to work from and has paid dividends time and time again,” says Prue.

Prior to joining MEMIC, Prue worked at Hanover Insurance as a commercial lines underwriter. He, his wife Darryl, and their two children live in Auburn, Maine.
