MEMIC Gets 1,000th Ebill Customer

PORTLAND, ME, May 31, 2012–Late in the day on Tuesday, MEMIC’s thousandth policyholder self-enrolled in the workers’ compensation insurer’s new online service, electronic billing and payment.

MEMIC began offering the convenient, paperless way to view and pay bills online last November as one of a number of new electronic ways to serve customers better.

“Streamlining workflow using the Web is expedient and cost-saving,” said Daniel McGarvey, senior vice of president of finance and chief financial officer. “We hope to have 25 percent of our policyholders convert to ebill. We’re encouraged that we’re a quarter of the way to this goal in almost six months.”

Policyholders who sign up for ebill can create a secure account to view and pay invoices. They can opt for paperless billing and e-mail notifications. They can add or delete bank accounts, make one-time payments, schedule future payments and arrange automatic payments, too.

MEMIC policyholders who wish to pay their bills online should have a copy of the bill in hand and click here.

Policyholders with online billing questions should call their independent insurance agent or MEMIC Premium Billing at 1-800-660-1306.
