MEMIC Announces Appointments to Underwriting Team in Virginia, Maryland and Florida

PORTLAND, ME, April 22, 2014 – The MEMIC Group has announced the appointment of three experienced underwriters for its territories in Virginia, Maryland and Florida. Timothy Cook, Michael Diamond and Scott Meinke joined the group’s Underwriting team in April as Senior Production Underwriters.

Cook brings more than 30 years of experience in the insurance industry to his new position. He is based in Virginia with responsibilities in Maryland and the District of Columbia as well. Cook maintains his Chartered Property and Casualty Underwriter (CPCU) designation. He is a member of the Professional Claim Association of Richmond and is an instructor for several professional insurance designations.

Diamond has a more than 20 years of experience in the insurance industry in Florida, including more than 15 as a workers’ compensation underwriter. He will join the company’s Florida underwriting team. Diamond obtained his Certified Insurance Counselor (CIC) and Accredited Advisor of Insurance (AAI) designations and is working toward the Workers’ Compensation Professional (WCP) designation.

Meinke brings 24 years of experience in the insurance industry as well as a significant workers’ compensation underwriting history in the Virginia, Maryland, and DC markets. In his new role, Meinke will develop business opportunities in those territories. Meinke holds several insurance-specific designations including Chartered Property and Casualty Underwriter (CPCU).
