Dates Announced for the 2006 MEMIC Comp Summit

PORTLAND, Maine, July 26, 2006—Workers' compensation insurance specialists Maine Employers' Mutual Insurance Company (MEMIC) and subsidiary MEMIC Indemnity Company have announced that the companies will host their annual MEMIC Comp Summit on November 2 and 3, 2006 at Sunday River Resort in Newry, Maine.

The 10th Annual MEMIC Comp Summit, open only to MEMIC customers, is a free conference devoted to workers' compensation issues. The program is designed to give customers the edge they need in the world of workers’ compensation by offering two days of concentrated seminars about workplace safety and claims management.

This year's general session speakers bring a spotlight on leadership, which studies show is a vital catalyst for safety and claims management programs. High altitude climber Alison Levine, ethicist Rush Kidder, Governor Angus King, and media magnate James Shaffer will all share their tales of leadership and offer advice on how to fuel the leaders in all of us.

The conference also will include nine sessions on hot topics central to workplace safety and workers’ compensation. The MEMIC Comp Summit is attended annually by approximately 500 people. Business owners, human resource directors, chief financial officers, safety directors, workers' compensation administrators and safety committee leaders are among the attendees.

The conference is free but attendees must pay for their lodging. Registration for the event is required. Registration will be available in mid-September at www.memic.com.
