Remembering Paul

Today, we write with heavy hearts as we remember our former colleague and the founding writer of this blog, Paul Caret. Paul died earlier this week at the young age of 53. He suffered yet exhibited tremendous grace in his three-year battle with Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis, or ALS, often known as Lou Gehrig's Disease.

We were grateful to have called him a colleague for seven years here at MEMIC. He worked as a safety management specialist in the construction field. He was knowledgeable, sensible, kind and fun. He cared deeply about helping make workplaces safer.

He took on this blog when he was no longer able to work in the field on customer jobsites. He brought great enthusiasm and care to the effort. And, he delighted when he started to get feedback from far-flung places.

We miss Paul and we send our best thoughts to his family.
