MEMIC Makes Cover of National Magazine

PORTLAND, Maine, May 19, 2006—MEMIC has made the cover of a national industry magazine for its work in transforming the once extremely dangerous Maine logging business. The May 2006 cover story of Risk and Insurance deciphers the often misleading rankings published on the country's most dangerous jobs.

Pictured on the cover is Dan Cote, the senior vice president of loss control at MEMIC. The article praises the company’s ongoing safety certification for loggers as the reason for the reduction in fatalities, which once happened in alarming frequency in the early 1990s.

The magazine is read by more than 50,000 industry people every month. That includes tens of thousands of insurance buyers and risk managers, as well as insurance industry analysts, carriers and vendors.
