MEMIC Awards Ten Policyholders for Outstanding Safety and Claims Management

PORTLAND, Maine, June 18, 2005 – At the company's Annual Meeting in June, Maine Employers' Mutual Insurance Company (MEMIC) and its subsidiary, MEMIC Indemnity Company, made awards to ten of its more than 20,000 customers for outstanding performance in workers' compensation.

At the Portland Museum of Art, MEMIC President and CEO John T. Leonard recognized the following companies for their commitment to workplace safety:
  • Harpers Construction, LLC – Winthrop, Maine
  • Portland Pipe Line Corporation – South Portland, Maine
  • Stratham Tire, Inc. – Brentwood, New Hampshire
  • Casco Bay Island Transit – Portland, Maine
  • Baxter State Park – Millinocket, Maine
Also honored were companies who exceptionally manage the process after an employee is injured: 
  • Spencer Press – Wells, Maine
  • Monadnock Community Hospital – Peterborough, New Hampshire
  • Gorham Sand & Gravel – Gorham, Maine
  • Shearer Chevrolet – Burlington, Vermont
  • Northeastern Log Homes – Kenduskeag, Maine
