MEMIC Horizon Scholarship
Financial support for students whose educational path has been affected by a parent’s serious or fatal workplace injury.
Applications open March 2, 2026 and close May 15, 2026 at 11:59 p.m. ET.
The 2026 awardee will be announced at The MEMIC Group's Annual Meeting of the Policyholders scheduled for June 14, 2027.
Named in honor of Harvey Picker, a distinguished physicist, educator, philanthropist and advocate for education, the scholarship supports a graduating high school senior whose educational path has been impacted by a parent’s serious or fatal workplace injury.
For nearly 25 years, MEMIC independently administered the Harvey Picker Horizon Scholarship, awarding more than $290,000 to more than 50 young scholars since the program’s creation in 2001.
Today, MEMIC partners with Kids’ Chance of America to administer the Harvey Picker Horizon Scholarship Program.
