The New Dynamic Office: Integrating Sit/Stand Desks Into Your Workplace
In our current sedentary culture we sit way too much, particularly at work. The by-product of prolonged sitting can have a negative impact on our personal health. Some studies have linked excessive sitting to increased risk for heart disease, colon cancer, muscle degeneration, bad backs and leg disorders.
This workshop will introduce attendees to dynamic concepts applicable to office environments. We will discuss the differences in our body between sitting and standing. We will explore the impact of gravity on our bodies sitting at a desk. We will also discuss strategies to reduce the risk of injury when in your office.
At the completion of this training, participants will be able to:
- Identify the basics of our anatomy and how it is shaped by work.
- List 3 changes to our body when sitting.
- Describe how our physiology changes when we stand up.
- Apply the basics of good design of a dynamic work station.
