Power Zone: Creating a Safe Manual Material Handling Environment
In manufacturing environments, good work station and tool design is the key to help avoid injuries to the shoulder and back. Reaching overhead or below knuckle level causes the body to work outside of its Power Zone. When working in these inefficient positions, the risk of injury increases. Learn how to avoid these injuries during this workshop that will discuss good work design and how to avoid common mistakes.
At the completion of this training, participants will be able to:
- Understand anatomy of the shoulder and back.
- Describe the basic mechanisms of injury for the shoulder and back.
- Identify non value added work tasks.
- Implement ways to improve a work process to reduce exposure risk of injury.
