Don has been with MEMIC since 1993, rising to Senior Vice President for Underwriting in 2000. In 2005, he was also made Chief Operating Officer for MEMIC Indemnity Company. Prior to his employment with MEMIC, Don worked at AIG, Home Insurance Group, and St. Paul Insurance Group.

Don earned his bachelor’s degree in insurance from the University of Rhode Island and a master’s degree in insurance from Boston University. He is a Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter (CPCU) and has the CLU designation. He also has NLI Certification, and attended the executive development program at Yale University. He is a licensed insurance agent in 42 States.

Active in his community, Don is a part of the CPCU Society, CLU Society, USM Corporate Partners program, an advisor with the National Council on Compensation Insurance (NCCI), Underwriting Advisory Group, a board member of the University of Southern Maine Institute for Family Owned Businesses, a trustee with the Maine Historical Society, and a past chair/advisor to the American Association of State Compensation Insurance Funds. In 2005, he earned the President’s Award from the Society of Chartered Property Casualty Underwriters (CPCU), Maine Chapter. In 2007, Don was elected to NCCI’s National Reinsurance Pool Board.
